A new branch architecture enabled by technologies such as network function virtualization (NFV) allows CSPs to deliver value-added managed services in a more economical way, avoiding truck-rolls, enabling service automation and self-service activation.

With virtual network functions (VNFs) and commodity hardware, CSPs can provide centralized management and provisioning of new connectivity and security services.

Bandwidth and services can be elastically turned up or turned down as required by the customer.
